Monte is a Montana native and grew up in Great Falls where he was involved in most all sports from grade school through high school. Mid-way through his sophomore year at C.M. Russell High School, Monte transferred and moved to Whitefish where he attended Whitefish High School. During this time he became a member of the Big Mountain Race Team and enjoyed ski racing. After graduating from Whitefish High School Monte pursued a ski racing career racing in many regional and national ski races. He became a member of the U.S. Ski Team and traveled to Europe and South America racing on the Europa Cup and World Cup racing circuits. After ski racing Monte attended Montana State University earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. During his time at MSU, Monte learned to ride horses and learned to team rope and tie-down rope. Since then Monte has been very involved in team roping as a member of various local and national team roping associations. He is currently involved in showing team roping horses at American Quarter Horse shows and is a current board member of the Montana Quarter Horse Association.
Monte is also the current president of Western Life Enhancement Foundation, a local non-profit organization involved in the promotion of youth in the “western way of life”. Monte’s wife, Beth and their four children are the light of his life. They are very proud of their kids’ involvement in various sports and activities in the Flathead Valley and all their children love riding horses as well. Monte and Beth are especially proud of their eldest daughter who is currently attending MSU.
Monte’s sixteen year insurance career began in the Boulder, Colorado area where he was an agent and manager of an insurance agency until 2005 when he pursued an opportunity that brought him home to Montana. Monte has extensive experience in providing commercial/business, farm/ranch and personal insurance. Specifically, Monte has specialized in horse farms, cattle ranches and commercial insurance and is very knowledgeable in appropriate and specific insurance needs for his customers. Additionally, Monte is the only insurance producer in Western Montana actively writing crop insurance for farmers and orchard growers. Monte prides himself in clearly explaining insurance coverage allowing his customers to better understand the insurance they have purchased. Monte is always available to help with any insurance needs.
